About the event
New Year’s Eve Comedy at the Campbell Theater in downtown Martinez
This show will start sharply at 7:15 and ends with a Sparkling Toast at 9:00 (the New York New Year) and you get to keep the champagne flute.
As with all of our shows, portions of the proceeds from the sale of each ticket will benefit local non-profits. We’ve chosen to once again team up with the Campbell Theater, a 501(3)c non profit organization. Additionally, portions of the proceeds will also go to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, one of our favorite charities.
Your Headliner for the evening is Scott Capurro
Comic. Actor. Author. Playwright.
Described by San Francisco Weekly as “stand-up in the very best possible sense – deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious”.
Scott has appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire, where, effortlessly, he played a homosexual; and Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where, breathlessly, he wore a body stocking. A gay designer who sports two heads might’ve been a predictable sequel; instead Scott waddled off to the UK, in search of a compassionate, creative culture.
Scott, reared in San Francisco, admires his home so much that he spreads Frisco love all over the UK. He wants Britain to be Great again. Or America to be Great Britain again. Either way, Scott requires a show on Amazon because his husband wants to live in Brazil.
Your Feature act for the evening is Mean Dave.
A Bay Area favorite, Mean Dave is a regular at Cobb’s Comedy Club, Punch Line in SF and Sacramento, Laughs Unlimited and Alameda Comedy Club and has shared the stage with Judy Tenuta, Big Jay Oakerson, Eddie Pepitone, Dan Soder, Jay Mohr, Tom Rhodes and most importantly, Barry Sobel.
Most of Dave’s life has been littered with utter disappointment and flat-out betrayal that only a sarcastic, cynical sense of humor can remedy. Many fans agree with this statement, “Mean Dave has made us laugh, cry, and cringe! He is honest and cynical, and such a sweet person.”
Hosted by Bob Johnston.
